RELEASE: Escape From New York

Democrats 2000's 'Escape From New York' event attracted over 350 guests and raised nearly $40,000 which will be used to help elect Younger Generation Democrats at the local, county, state and federal levels throughout New Jersey. The event was held at Oddfellow's Rest in Hoboken on Monday, August 30, the first night of the Republican National Convention in New York City.The event, our largest to date, featured live music by ParrotBeach and attracted local dignitaries including Hoboken Mayor David Roberts, Hoboken Council members Ruben Ramos and Chris Campos, and Hudson County Freeholder Maurice Fitzgibbons. Special thanks to the Hoboken Democratic Organization for donating the great souvenir t-shirts that everyone in attendance received.
Other elected officials to attend the event included Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein Cumberland County Freeholder Director, and County Chairman Lou Maggazzu; Salem County Freeholder Beth Timberman; Guttenberg Councilwoman Jen Credidio; Prospect Park Councilman Mohamed T. Khairullah and West Paterson Councilman Keith Kazmark . Party leaders in attendance included Passaic County Chairman Jon Currie and CEO of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee Kevin Hagan. Former Recommended List candidates Senator Paul Sarlo, Assemblyman Michael Panter, and Little Ferry Councilman Mauro Raguseo also participated in the evening's festivities.

Over 50 party leaders and supporters signed on to sponsor the event including Senator Jon Corzine, Congressman Bob Menendez, Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, Mayor Dan Reiman, the Bergen County Democratic Organization, Plumbers Local 24 and Kay LiCausi.
